This recipe is so easy, we can’t believe we never thought to make Frozen Banana Pops sooner. You’ll definitely want to bring your family and friends in on the fun. Make a party of it!

This recipe for Fiesta Frozen Banana Pops is so easy and fun to make. What a delicious summer treat! Check it out on the Fiesta Dinnerware blog at www.alwaysfestive.com.

First, cut the bananas in half. Then insert popsicle sticks about halfway through each banana. (You can find popsicle sticks at any craft store.) Freeze the bananas overnight.

Next, melt the chocolate chips and vegetable oil in the microwave. For best results, heat for 30 seconds and then stir. Repeat until the chocolate is smooth. Be sure not to overheat because chocolate will become grainy and lose its smooth consistency.

This recipe for Fiesta Frozen Banana Pops is so easy and fun to make. What a delicious summer treat! Check it out on the Fiesta Dinnerware blog at www.alwaysfestive.com.

Immediately dip the bananas in the chocolate while the chocolate is warm. We put our melted chocolate in a Fiesta Tumbler. The shape allows for perfect dipping!

This recipe for Fiesta Frozen Banana Pops is so easy and fun to make. What a delicious summer treat! Check it out on the Fiesta Dinnerware blog at www.alwaysfestive.com.

Then dip each chocolate covered banana in your choice of toppings. You’ll want to do this before the chocolate sets or the toppings won’t stick. We dipped our bananas in colorful sprinkles, crushed walnuts, chocolate candies, and shredded coconut. Our Fiesta Fruit/Salsa Bowls made it easy to rolls the bananas in the toppings.

Place bananas on wax or parchment paper until the chocolate sets. Or you can enjoy right away, but the chocolate will be a little messier.

Simple Decorative Pie Crust Techniques

Simple Decorative Pie Crust Techniques from Fiesta Dinnerware

All the best summer memories happen around a freshly baked pie, or at least at Fiesta Dinnerware we like to think so. But gone are the days of grandma’s basic pies (sorry grandma). With fancy decorative pies posted all across social media, we often feel pie envy. Do your pies stack up to what you see on Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram?

Fear not, friends. We have some simple pie crust tips and tricks that will make your pies the star of every summer party. And, don’t tell, but we didn’t even make our pies from scratch! Just grab a can of fruit pie filling, add some fresh fruit to the filling, and unroll some pie crust from the refrigerated section of the grocery store. None of these fancy pies took longer than 20 minutes to make. However, all you baking pros out there can feel free to go the homemade route if you choose.

Roses
Roses are so simple to create, but really make a beautiful statement. And in our Large Heart Bowl, how sweet is this pie? Use a knife to cut strips about ½ inch thick. You’ll only need each strip to be about 4 inches long. Create a rose-like spiral, taking care to curl out the “petals” as you wind the dough around itself. Pinch the bottom, but keep the top portion of the petals loose. You’ll make the most realistic roses that way. We took some extra dough to make rose petals, freehand with a knife. Add the roses and leaves to the top of your pie filling. Brush with an egg wash and sprinkle with sugar. Then bake the pie according to your recipe.

Shapes
You could easily just cover your pie with a flat crust and poke some holes in the top. But what fun would that be? We think this is the simplest trick of all. Use some cookie cutters to cut shapes out of your freshly rolled dough. Lay them out in a haphazard pattern across the top. Voila! We used star shapes for our summer celebrations, but you could really use any shape at all. Bake as usual.

Painted Dough
For those who have an artistic flair, this technique is sure to impress. And it’s so easy! We made a cherry pie in our Square Baker. We used a knife to freeform some cherries, stems and leaves. A little egg wash “glued” them to the lattice crust. Then, using a paint brush, we “painted” our cherries with some red and green food coloring. We used our food coloring straight out of the bottle, but you could dilute it with a little water for a watercolor effect. Bake your pie in the oven.

Braided Crust
Isn’t this braided crust adorable? If you can braid hair, you can pull this off. Cut thin strips of dough, about ¼” thick. Roll each strip to make a smooth snake-like tube. Take three at a time and pinch them together at the top. Then braid them together and pinch at the bottom. You might need to do this 2-3 times to fit the braids all the way around your Pie Baker. Brush the bottom crust with a little egg wash and lightly press the braids onto the bottom crust. Brush the braids with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar. Bake as usual.

Fruit Shapes
We love a crumble topping on a fruit pie. But it’s difficult to determine what flavor is being served until you cut into it. Eliminate any confusion with this easy trick. We made a mini peach pie in our Fiesta Ramekin. But before we put it in the oven, we sliced a peach and created a negative space star, again using cookie cutters (they’re so useful when making pies!).

No Fuss Buffet-Style Backyard Barbecue

How to plan a No Fuss Buffet-Style Backyard Barbecue. Plus get a recipe for delicious All-American Burger Sauce. From Fiesta Dinnerware on the blog at www.alwaysfestive.com.

Can you ever get enough backyard barbecues over the summer? We didn’t think so. Grilling outside is such a fun way to cook and entertain during the hot weather months. Easy cleanup, plus no need to heat up the oven.

Casual is the key to outside entertaining, so we’re all about buffet style. Here are a few pointers to create a great flow for your guests as they’re filling their plates.

Always set out your stack of plates to the far left at the front of the table. We used a vibrant, summery color palette of Turquoise, Poppy and new color Daffodil.

Then set out your salads and side dishes, like a garden salad, fruit salad and chips or potato salad. Our Bistro Bowls in various sizes are great for serving a crowd!

Don’t forget utensils and napkins. We wrapped our Fiesta Flatware in a napkin and tied it with a few strands of raffia. That way, guests won’t need to juggle their plates in addition to loose utensils and napkins. Everything’s in a neat little, easy-to-carry package. To keep it super casual, we used colorful bandanas as napkins for this buffet setting.

Last but definitely not least is an icey cold beverage. Our 2+ gallon Beverage Server is the perfect addition to any backyard soiree. It’s great for serving lemonade, fruit infused water or iced tea.

What are your tips for a no-fuss backyard BBQ? What Fiesta colors do you like to use during summer get-togethers? Share them with us on social media at: Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest.

Fall Pumpkin Alfredo Zoodle, Squoodle and Patoodle Recipe

Fall Pumpkin Alfredo Zoodle, Squoodle annd Patoodle Recipe on the Fiesta Dinnerware blog at www.alwaysfestive.com.

Now that the air is getting its first hint of crispness, we are oh-so-ready for fall. It’s time for snuggly sweaters, comfort foods and of course that seasonal favorite…pumpkins. Most pumpkin recipes tend to favor the overly sweet side, but this one we’re about to share is uniquely savory and just perfect for a chilly autumn evening.Fall Pumpkin Alfredo Zoodle, Squoodle annd Patoodle Recipe on the Fiesta Dinnerware blog at www.alwaysfestive.com.

The recipe combines goat cheese with pumpkin puree for a seasonal alfredo sauce that’s out of this world. So the dish is not too heavy, we put the sauce on top of a trio of zoodles (zucchini noodles), squoodles (yellow squash) and patoodles (sweet potatoes) — we made up the words squoodles and patoodles, but they kinda work right?!

Fall Pumpkin Alfredo Zoodle, Squoodle annd Patoodle Recipe on the Fiesta Dinnerware blog at www.alwaysfestive.com.

If you’ve never tried making noodles out of vegetables, all you need is a simple tool called a spiralizer. Or you can simply julienne your vegetables for similar results. There are a few different ways you can make -oodles: steamed, roasted, sautéed, or boiled.

We’ve tried several methods and we prefer to roast them in the oven (and PS, coconut oil worked the best for us).

  1. 1 - zucchini
  2. 1 - yellow squash
  3. 1 - sweet potato
  4. 3 tablespoons - coconut oil
  5. salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Spiralize or julienne vegetables.
  3. Heat coconut oil in microwave just until melted, about 10-15 seconds.
  4. Spread zucchini and yellow squash on a baking sheet.
  5. Spread sweet potato on a separate baking sheet.
  6. Pour 2 tablespoons coconut oil over zucchini and yellow squash and toss to coat evenly.
  7. Pour remaining tablespoon of coconut oil over sweet potato and toss to coat evenly.
  8. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Roast zucchini and yellow squash approximately 15-20 minutes, turning ½ way through.
  10. Roast sweet potato approximately 20-30 minutes, turning ½ way through.
Notes
  1. Tip: Because everyone’s oven is different, you’ll need to watch your -oodles carefully the first few times you make them.

Just the Basics: Essential Dinnerware for a First House or Apartment

At the height of spring, graduation and wedding announcements abound. Many young people are on the verge of living on their own for the first time – or at least with a roommate or domestic partner.

That feeling can be overwhelming. What do they really need when they’re first starting out? Well, when it comes to their first dinnerware collection, Fiesta Dinnerware’s got ‘em covered!

When someone’s short on cupboard space, but big on style, durability and value, these are the first few pieces they’ll need to get going in their first home sweet home of their own.

Fiesta Dinnerware Sage Luncheon Plate - one of the perfect pieces for someone's first house or apartment. For more starter dinnerware ideas, visit the Fiesta blog at www.alwaysfestive.com.

The Fiesta Luncheon Plates are the perfect sized plates when there’s not much space for both dinner plates and salad plates on the shelves. Plus, here’s an extra benefit, they’re really good for portion control!

Fiesta Dinnerware Turquoise 3pc Bistro Set - one of the perfect pieces for someone's first house or apartment. For more starter dinnerware ideas, visit the Fiesta blog at www.alwaysfestive.com.

If there’s a little more space in the cupboards, might we suggest the NEW Fiesta 3pc Bistro Set? It comes with a Dinner Plate, Salad Plate and Small Bistro Bowl. The Dinner Plate and Salad Plate have a slightly different design than the traditional Fiesta Dinner and Salad Plates. They have a wider and flatter surface area and deeper rim, giving them more of a “bistro” or café look – hence the name!

Fiesta Dinnerware Scarlet Medium Bistro Bowl - one of the perfect pieces for someone's first house or apartment. For more starter dinnerware ideas, visit the Fiesta blog at www.alwaysfestive.com.

This Fiesta Medium Bistro Bowl is a great go-to bowl for nearly every meal. It’s pretty much ideal for everything from salad to pasta to stir fry to cereal. Trust us on this one.

Fiesta Dinnerware Sunflower Tapered Mug - one of the perfect pieces for someone's first house or apartment. For more starter dinnerware ideas, visit the Fiesta blog at www.alwaysfestive.com.

For any type of hot drink, the Tapered Mug should be on the list. At 15oz., it’s just the right size and it feels comfy to hold.

Fiesta Dinnerware Foundry Baking/Pizza Tray - one of the perfect pieces for someone's first house or apartment. For more starter dinnerware ideas, visit the Fiesta blog at www.alwaysfestive.com.

The Baking/Pizza Tray is a must-have. Yes, frozen pizza can be made on it, but that’s not the only thing. It can do double duty in place of a cookie sheet. We’ve shown it here above in our new Foundry finish (coming soon!). It has the look of cast iron with the ease of use of ceramic.

So, those are the basic Fiesta Dinnerware items we’d recommend to get started for anyone who’s moving into a place of their own for the first time. Fiesta’s a fun graduation, shower or wedding gift, especially for Fiesta enthusiasts who love to pass the passion down to a new generation!

And if you’re not the first person in your family to own Fiesta Dinnerware, or if you’re gifting Fiesta to someone just starting out on their own, then you’ll know the many benefits of using it as your starter dinnerware:

  • Even though it has a 5-year chip replacement warranty, it’s an investment you’ll most likely have for the rest of your life.
  • By using Fiesta Dinnerware, you’re supporting workers at a family owned factory in Newell, West Virginia, USA.
  • Fiesta is lead free and microwave, dishwasher, freezer, and oven proof.
  • Fiesta has a long history – 80 years – of timeless, classic design. It was as stylish in the kitchens of 1936 as it is in the modern homes of today.
  • If you’d like to add to your Fiesta Dinnerware collection, pieces are easy to find at thousands of retailers, including better department stores and specialty retailers nationwide, .coms, and fiestafactorydirect.com.

We combined vibrant colors like Poppy, Tangerine, Sunflower, and Claret (available in June 2016), inspired by the whimsical colorful front doors sprinkled all throughout the neighborhoods of Palm Springs. Then we added Lemongrass and Shamrock in honor of the beautiful succulents of the desert. Don’t forget some touches of gold, because let’s face it, you can’t have Palm Springs without some bling.

Botanical

The botanical theme is one you might be seeing in all the design blogs and magazines this season. Why not try it out in your spring shelf design? To achieve this look, think lush greenery, jewel tones and natural wood.

We used a “Tropical Banana Leaf Art Print” from Etsy* combined with actual banana leaves and a banana leaf bowl. Then we added some basket weave items, a hand-carved wooden bowl and a pop of metallic with some copper Moscow mule mugs. Next, of course, we displayed a glorious range of rich hued Fiesta Dinnerware in Claret, Turquoise, Sage, Lapis, and Cobalt.

Retro Kitchen

Spring has us thinking ice cream and ice cream has us thinking vintage kitchens. So that’s the inspiration for our spring shelfie #3.

We found this cute replication ice cream sign at a hobby store. We combined Claret, Turquoise, Scarlet, Slate, and Ivory Fiesta Dinnerware for a classic retro kitchen look. A simple red tray holds a sweet little gingham trimmed basket filled with red and white paper straws and Fiesta flatware. A milkshake mixer and soda glasses complete the theme.
