Setting the Easter Table

Easter brings a feeling of new beginnings and fresh starts. It is a time we like to welcome spring with homemade meals, mimosas at brunch, or crafting sessions while grazing on peeps and chocolate eggs. This year we are ready for a bit of everything – especially crafts. Here are three ways you can get inspired to create your own DIY Easter tablescape.

Setting the Easter Table1. Revive the art of decoupaging. Decoupage Easter eggs make the perfect centerpieces. This trend has been spotted from Martha Stewart’s blog to Women’s Day, but we are taking this DIY to the table: using it as the perfect floral conversation starter. All you need are your favorite printed-paper napkins, Mod Podge, flowers (real or fake), and eggs. We prefer this step-by-step from blogger Mom Spark to decorate your napkins. Once you have your finished eggs, cut a tiny hole in the tops and turn your creation into mini bouquets. Here we’ve kept the eggs in the original tray, adding an earthy tone to the table.

2. Use faux moss as a table runner. Whimsy and wonder are always fun to invite to the party – this grassy detail is a sure way to add that ethereal beauty. For our table we found notes of Turquoise, Lemongrass, Plum and Slate to fit the woodsy scene best. Sprinkle your favorite Easter candy in the moss to make the scene even more delicious.

3. Use Easter eggs as name placeholders. These chalkboard eggs can be found at most craft stores and make for adorable name cards for guests. We found these tiny clay pots to sit our name card eggs on – guests will adore the creative personalization, and kids can fill their pails with candy after the meal is over.
