Fiesta Fall Table Inspo

Need some inspiration for your fall table settings? It can be easy to get in a rut and use the same fall color combinations year after year — or not switch out your place settings at all from season to season. But when you have a cupboard full of colorful Fiesta dishes, it’s worth the extra effort to change up your tablescape. We have lots of inspirational ideas for everything from your festive autumnal soirees to everyday dining.

Dark and Moody
Whether you’re prepping for Halloween, Dia de los Muertos or just prefer a more sophisticated decor, this tablescape featuring our
Skull and Vine collection is sure to set the mood. We went all black with our linens and added Fiesta flatware in Slate. A few natural elements really allowed the dramatically dark dishes to make a statement. We used a burlap runner, natural basket weave chargers and eucalyptus sprigs.

Farmhouse Chic
Using many of the same elements of the tablescape above, we went light and bright for this next setting. Wouldn’t this be gorgeous for Thanksgiving? We used the same black napkins, basket weave chargers, and eucalyptus sprigs and then added pine cones, white flowers, a black and white gingham tablecloth, natural wood flatware, and a galvanized steel tray. White and Sage dinnerware make this tablescape feel rustic, but elegant at the same time.

Autumnal Warmth
Our friends at Sweet Paul Magazine put together the warm colors of fall in a tablescape that’s sure to radiate the joy of the season. New color Daffodil practically glows next to Scarlet, Poppy and Tangerine. Be sure to check out this recipe for Baked Eggs with Potato, Onion and Bacon, the perfect fall comfort food!

Back to Nature
This buffet setting brings all the natural colors of fall together for a feast for the eyes. It reminds us of jumping in a pile of freshly fallen leaves! We used Poppy, Scarlet, Sunflower, Lemongrass, Shamrock, and a pop of Turquoise. And for tips on how to set a buffet table, check out our blog post here.

Classic Fall
It’s fun to get creative with fall color combinations, but sometimes you just want the comfort of classic autumnal colors. Poppy, Ivory, Slate, and Sage evoke the warmth of the season. This scene makes us just want to carve pumpkins and sip some cider.

What’s your fall table setting look like? We encourage you to post photos to Instagram and use #fallfiesta.

October’s Color of the Month

We’re excited to give you our second installment of our Fiesta Color of the Month series with October’s shade: Poppy! Poppy was introduced in 2014, and made a splash as one of our most vibrant colors to date. Poppy is reminiscent of our original Red, which was released back in 1936, but bolder and brighter.

October is one of our favorite months at Fiesta Dinnerware, and if you’ve seen our vast Halloween collection, you’ve probably already guessed that! We love playing around with different colors this season as well, most notably Poppy. You can see our bright orange hue everywhere this time of the year. We pass poppy leaves falling from trees, poppy pumpkins adorning doorsteps, and even Poppy colored candy on store shelves. This color seems like it was made for the cool mornings and crisp evenings of the autumn season. Mix it with green, yellow, and red decor for a fall masterpiece right in your home.

To help you set your table with our Color of the Month, we’ve provided five of our favorite color combos that are ideal for October. Enjoy!

Halloween Eve – Poppy, Lemongrass, Daffodil, Claret, Slate

Harvest – Poppy, Sage, Daffodil, Sunflower, Slate

Candy Corn – Poppy, Daffodil, Tangerine, White,

Sienna Sunset – Poppy, Lapis, Daffodil, Turquoise, Sage, Scarlet

New West – Poppy, Scarlet, Tangerine, Sunflower, Lemongrass, Daffodil

Pumpkin Spice Granola

If you’ve seen our vast Halloween collection, you’ll know that we are big fans of fall! We love the crisp air, the changing leaves, and of course, everything pumpkin flavored. That’s why we’ve put together a perfect recipe for those chilly fall mornings that doubles as an afternoon snack to keep your pumpkin spice cravings in check.

We know we’re not alone when we say we love baking when the temperature starts to drop. We’ve been reaching for our Square, Rectangular, and Loaf Bakers for almost every meal over the past few weeks, and there’s no sign of stopping! There’s just something about turning the oven on and having those fall spices permeating our homes that make us swoon.

This pumpkin spice granola is a delicious way to get that fall feeling going. We like to enjoy this sweet and spicy treat with steamed milk in the morning, or when you get that hangry feeling in the afternoons. We’ve kept the processed sugar out too, so there’s no midmorning crash (although we like to add a little honey on top!) Let us know if you tried this recipe on our Facebook page, and share your photos with us on Instagram. Happy fall, y’all!

September’s Color of the Month

At the beginning of September, we decided to name our first ever Fiesta Color of the Month! Without hesitation, Daffodil, our 2017 new color, was picked from the pack. Why did we choose our brightest, boldest yellow to represent September? We had our Sales and Marketing VP, Rich Brinkman, explain.

“September is the lead up month to my favorite season – Fall. A season that conjures all our childhood memories and senses, specifically taste, smell and vision. Color is a strong part of Fall, as no season is so well tied with color. As we begin to see change, the brightness of summer begins to migrate to the yellow-gold and orange-red families. For me, the first accent of color change is the yellow/gold highlights such as Fiesta® Daffodil, which then migrates to a more dominate fall season palette of bright oranges, rusts, reds, purples and greens. Enjoy all that is Fall, the flavors, scents and beauty of the season!”

-Rich Brinkman

To continue with the theme of Daffodil for the month, we’re including 4 of our favorite Daffodil inspired color combinations for you to try at home!

Celebrate – featuring Daffodil, Scarlet, Lapis, Poppy, Turquoise, Shamrock and Lemongrass.

Coastal – featuring Daffodil, Lemongrass, Turquoise, Lapis, Cobalt, and Claret.

Cottage – featuring Daffodil, Ivory, Poppy, Lapis, and Turquoise.

Spicy – featuring Daffodil, Sunflower, Poppy, Claret, Lemongrass, and Tangerine.

The new color for 2018 will be announced on January 9, 2018, on the first day of The Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market®. Fiesta Dinnerware, the colorful and iconic Made in America brand, will be exhibiting in Keystone Marketing’s expanded showroom Building 2 #901A on the 9th floor.

Along with the retirement of Tangerine and Claret, Fiesta has discontinued the following pieces from its collection:

Tangerine, Claret and the above items will be available to consumers at better department stores, independent retailers, at .coms and on www.fiestafactorydirect.com while supplies last.

A staple in the Fiesta color spectrum for several years, Tangerine was introduced in 2003. Claret was in production since 2016.

Uncle Pete’s Moscow Mules

Nothing says summer like backyard get-togethers with good conversation, and ice-cold cocktails. Our personal drink of choice during these warm summer evenings is a classic Moscow Mule, served in our oh-so-adorable Fiesta copper mugs (a must for Mules)! Our licensed mugs are found at Dillard’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Kohl’s, and come in both full size (18 oz.), and miniature (2 oz.) for measuring out shots. Luckily for us, we have one of the best Moscow Mule makers in the biz right here at the factory: Uncle Pete!

As some of you may know, Homer Laughlin is a family owned and operated company. Pete is an in law of the family, with his wife, Jeannie, being a 4th generation owner. He works as VP in the company and helps to oversee the manufacturing of our beloved Fiesta Dinnerware. During family parties on their back porch, you can always count on Uncle Pete to bring his famous Moscow Mules to the fun. He’s been making this recipe for years, and now we’re sharing it with all of you!

Pete’s tips for this concoction are to always use copper mugs, and to make sure you get a good ginger beer that’s not too bitter, and not too sweet. His ginger beer of choice is Gosling’s. Now drink up and enjoy!

This recipe for Fiesta Frozen Banana Pops is so easy and fun to make. What a delicious summer treat! Check it out on the Fiesta Dinnerware blog at www.alwaysfestive.com.

First, cut the bananas in half. Then insert popsicle sticks about halfway through each banana. (You can find popsicle sticks at any craft store.) Freeze the bananas overnight.

Next, melt the chocolate chips and vegetable oil in the microwave. For best results, heat for 30 seconds and then stir. Repeat until the chocolate is smooth. Be sure not to overheat because chocolate will become grainy and lose its smooth consistency.

Immediately dip the bananas in the chocolate while the chocolate is warm. We put our melted chocolate in a Fiesta Tumbler. The shape allows for perfect dipping!

Then dip each chocolate covered banana in your choice of toppings. You’ll want to do this before the chocolate sets or the toppings won’t stick. We dipped our bananas in colorful sprinkles, crushed walnuts, chocolate candies, and shredded coconut. Our Fiesta Fruit/Salsa Bowls made it easy to rolls the bananas in the toppings.

Place bananas on wax or parchment paper until the chocolate sets. Or you can enjoy right away, but the chocolate will be a little messier.

Simple Decorative Pie Crust Techniques

Simple Decorative Pie Crust Techniques from Fiesta Dinnerware

All the best summer memories happen around a freshly baked pie, or at least at Fiesta Dinnerware we like to think so. But gone are the days of grandma’s basic pies (sorry grandma). With fancy decorative pies posted all across social media, we often feel pie envy. Do your pies stack up to what you see on Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram?

Fear not, friends. We have some simple pie crust tips and tricks that will make your pies the star of every summer party. And, don’t tell, but we didn’t even make our pies from scratch! Just grab a can of fruit pie filling, add some fresh fruit to the filling, and unroll some pie crust from the refrigerated section of the grocery store. None of these fancy pies took longer than 20 minutes to make. However, all you baking pros out there can feel free to go the homemade route if you choose.

Roses
Roses are so simple to create, but really make a beautiful statement. And in our Large Heart Bowl, how sweet is this pie? Use a knife to cut strips about ½ inch thick. You’ll only need each strip to be about 4 inches long. Create a rose-like spiral, taking care to curl out the “petals” as you wind the dough around itself. Pinch the bottom, but keep the top portion of the petals loose. You’ll make the most realistic roses that way. We took some extra dough to make rose petals, freehand with a knife. Add the roses and leaves to the top of your pie filling. Brush with an egg wash and sprinkle with sugar. Then bake the pie according to your recipe.

Shapes
You could easily just cover your pie with a flat crust and poke some holes in the top. But what fun would that be? We think this is the simplest trick of all. Use some cookie cutters to cut shapes out of your freshly rolled dough. Lay them out in a haphazard pattern across the top. Voila! We used star shapes for our summer celebrations, but you could really use any shape at all. Bake as usual.

Painted Dough
For those who have an artistic flair, this technique is sure to impress. And it’s so easy! We made a cherry pie in our Square Baker. We used a knife to freeform some cherries, stems and leaves. A little egg wash “glued” them to the lattice crust. Then, using a paint brush, we “painted” our cherries with some red and green food coloring. We used our food coloring straight out of the bottle, but you could dilute it with a little water for a watercolor effect. Bake your pie in the oven.

Braided Crust
Isn’t this braided crust adorable? If you can braid hair, you can pull this off. Cut thin strips of dough, about ¼” thick. Roll each strip to make a smooth snake-like tube. Take three at a time and pinch them together at the top. Then braid them together and pinch at the bottom. You might need to do this 2-3 times to fit the braids all the way around your Pie Baker. Brush the bottom crust with a little egg wash and lightly press the braids onto the bottom crust. Brush the braids with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar. Bake as usual.

Fruit Shapes
We love a crumble topping on a fruit pie. But it’s difficult to determine what flavor is being served until you cut into it. Eliminate any confusion with this easy trick. We made a mini peach pie in our Fiesta Ramekin. But before we put it in the oven, we sliced a peach and created a negative space star, again using cookie cutters (they’re so useful when making pies!).

Fiesta Rainbow Foods

As you’ve probably already guessed, we love color here at Fiesta Dinnerware! So it only makes sense that after we’ve set our table with our rainbow of dinnerware, we’d include a rainbow of foods to go with it! We thought we’d share with you our favorite foods that really get us in the Fiesta spirit. Think radiant red strawberries and peppers, and bright blueberries and blackberries. The best part about these festive fares? They include tons of fruits and veggies!

We’re kicking this colorful feast off with a healthy smoothie bowl. We love testing out different smoothie flavors, but find ourselves reaching for berries and bananas (and even a handful of spinach!) most often for a pretty purple hue. Our Small Bistro Bowl from the 3pc Bistro Set is the ideal size for this snack. Top with a spectrum of fruits for a beautiful breakfast treat!

Next, it’s appetizer time with our Rainbow Salsa! Chop up tomatoes, orange and yellow peppers, jalapeños, cilantro, and red onion. Add black beans, corn, lime juice, and your favorite spices and you’re ready to enjoy. We like serving this salsa up in our Lapis Signature Bowl. Shout out to Gimme Some Oven for this idea!

Finally, the main course: pizza! We piled on peppers, onions and broccoli to make this masterpiece. Store bought pizza crust makes this meal easy to throw together and enjoy in a pinch, and our Baking/Pizza Tray is the perfect size to hold it, not to mention oven proof up to 500 degrees!

What are your favorite foods for Fiesta? Let us know on Facebook and share your rainbow photos with us on Instagram by tagging @fiestadinnerware.

Can you ever get enough backyard barbecues over the summer? We didn’t think so. Grilling outside is such a fun way to cook and entertain during the hot weather months. Easy cleanup, plus no need to heat up the oven.

Casual is the key to outside entertaining, so we’re all about buffet style. Here are a few pointers to create a great flow for your guests as they’re filling their plates.
