Memorial Day with Fiesta

There’s just something about Memorial Day; the sound of sizzling burgers on the grill, the raucous parades marching up and down the streets, the taste of sweet watermelon, as the juice rolls down your arm, that we just adore. It’s a way to kickoff summer, to gather with our family and friends on a special day of remembrance, and in most cases, it’s the first official cookout of the year. Since we’re all about decorating tabletops (and in this case, picnic tables!) with our festive color schemes, we thought we’d give you a few ideas about how to deck yours out as well.

Memorial Day

We love the look of a lavish centerpiece to bring all eyes on the table, and here at Always Festive we think, “the brighter, the better!” Gather all of the red, white, and blue flowers you’ve got and load up your Scarlet Disc Pitcher. Include a mini flag to really set the mood.

However, one vase of festive flora is never really enough. Why not include individual Jam Jars of flowers at each place setting to really liven up the table? It’s the perfect size for a bitty bouquet. Offset the Scarlet centerpiece with Lapis to keep the patriotic theme rolling!

Last, but not least, is the actual place setting. We love the idea of tying in a craft with your Memorial Day tablescape, and what better craft than a patriotic pinwheel? We found this template from Skip to My Lou and it turned out beautifully! Place them on your Scarlet, White, and Lapis plates to tie the whole table together.

Finally, get those burgers off the grill and onto your plates! Happy Memorial Day!

A Summer Citrus Fiesta Wedding

Fiesta Dinnerware Citrus Summer Wedding

This styled shoot shows just what can happen when Fiesta Dinnerware has a wedding moment—hint hint, the results are amazing!

With Fiesta Dinnerware serving up a citrus-inspired color palette against breathtaking views of a Southern California Vineyard backdrop, you have the perfect setting for an intimate Fiesta wedding celebration that will impress your guests!

We incorporated new colors Sage and Slate into the wedding setting along with Fiesta favorites— Poppy, Sunflower and Turquoise. Our friends from Bravado Design created the lovely floral arrangements and styled the Fiesta products to give us this beautiful presentation.

The Beverages

Fiesta Dinnerware Beverage Servers - wedding drink station

We served lemon and lime water in the sunflower beverage server and raspberry limeade in the turquoise beverage server to tie in the citrus theme.

Fiesta Dinnerware Large Disc Pitchers in Sunflower, Poppy and Turquoise. Great for weddings and events!

Fiesta Dinnerware Large Disc Pitchers: Sunflower, Turquoise and Poppy. Perfect for your next summer party!

Disc Pitchers in Poppy, Turquoise and Sunflower set in a Slate oval platter were used to fill up with beverages to take back to the table for dinner.

Fiesta Dinnerware Beverage Server. Beautiful display for cold summer drinks at hot summer parties!

Orange paper straws were a great compliment next to the Sunflower and Turquoise Beverage servers, not to mention fun.

The Cake and Food

Fiesta Dinnerware stack of Omni Trays. So pretty for serving up appetizers.

Appetizers were set up in unique ways with the entertaining collection to show off the colors, while bowls of citrus were used to add to the feel of the citrus theme.

Fiesta Dinnerware cake stand hack: Hostess Bowl turned upside down with Pizza/Baking Tray on top. Genius!

The citrus theme was also carried over to the appetizers as well. Mason jars were filled with a wild salmon ceviche with layers of citrus and small bowls made out oranges were filled with wild tuna and avocado with pickled red onions.

Fiesta Dinnerware Hostess Bowl topped with Pizza/Baking Tray. The perfect cake stand!

Using a Fiesta hack to create a beautiful cake stand, we added kumquats instead of flowers to top this cake by Nothing Bundt Cakes. We love the contrast of the cake against the Poppy color.

The Tablescape

Who's ready for a summer wedding? Crisp and clean, this Fiesta Dinnerware color palette of Sage, Slate, Sunflower, Poppy, and Turquoise is beautifully set off against a vineyard backdrop.

Keep flowers simple when you're dressing up your wedding table with colorful Fiesta Dinnerware.

Bravado Design used Mason jars, a variety of white flowers and greenery to give a crisp look to the table. Kumquats were placed in the arrangements for a surprise pop of color.

A natural place card stands out against colorful Fiesta Dinnerware at this outdoor summer wedding. Fiesta Napkin, Flatware and Dishes in colors: Sunflower, Poppy, Sage, Slate, and Turquoise.

A wedding tablesetting that makes a statement. Fiesta Dinnerware in Sage, Turquoise and Poppy.

Each place setting had a variety of combinations in Slate, Sage, Turquoise, Poppy and Sunflower to create unique setting for each guest.

So pretty and cheerful! Wedding tablescape in Fiesta Dinnerware colors: Slate, Sunflower, Turquoise, and Poppy.

Fiesta napkins were layered with other fabric to add dimension and even more color—true to Fiesta form!

Fiesta Hacks: Bathroom Edition

In our first post on Fiesta Hacks we showed you how to introduce the vivid colors and classic shapes of Fiesta® dinnerware into your home in some pretty unique ways.  From a toothbrush holder vase to egg tray paint palettes we wanted to add a dash of Fiesta to the unexpected and encourage you to do the same.

This time we’re coming to you with a very special series of hacks, all taking place in one of the most heavily used (and often neglected) rooms of the house: the bathroom.

Fiesta Bathroom

This is the space where we go to get clean and polished, yet many times the bathroom can fall into a state of chaos, cluttered with outdated knickknacks and expired products. These simple solutions will help you breathe new life into your bathroom with an injection of bright, bold Fiesta dinnerware.

Fiesta Bathroom Sink

Simplify your Sink

There’s no need to pile products onto your sink surround.  Clear the countertop clutter and you will be rewarded with a soothing backdrop for soaps and an easy space to clean.

Our picks for a perfectly polished setup:  the colorful Soap Dispenser, Toothbrush Holder, and Soap Dish

Fiesta Bathroom Commode

Clean up the Commode

Let’s talk toilettes.  As far as we’re concerned, the best ones are always clean and well stocked.  Keep the essential supplies within easy reach by displaying in eye-catching Fiesta dishes.

Fiesta Tank

Load a Bread Tray up with fragrant staples like room spray and a candle and perch the platter on top of your tank. A spare roll of paper is another welcome addition.

For extra credit, stow your toilette brush in a colorful container.  Ours is housed in a Poppy Medium Canister.

Fiesta Brush Holder

Fiesta Bathroom Window

Organize the Essentials

Bathroom shelves deserve love too!  No matter what your grooming routine consists of, Fiesta has got a vessel to contain it.

Fiesta Bathroom Beauty

Corral your creams with a Fiesta Bread Tray.  The intense dose of color and structured profile can unify a mixed lot of bottles and tubes.  The high sides of a Loaf Pan will also do the trick.

Fiesta Essentials

Stock up on cotton balls and swabs.  The Utility Jar is the perfect size for a supply of either of the soft white staples.  Another great pick is the Sugar Packet Caddy which holds cotton swabs upright and at the ready.

Fiesta Vanity Top

Up the Style of your Vanity

We love collecting colorful cosmetics.  Be it cream or powder, those little gems can breathe life into your complexion and add a sparkle to your eyes.  Return the favor by displaying your beauty booty in cheerful Fiesta dishes.

The flat, rectangular design of the Sugar Packet Caddy is perfect for holding tubes of lipstick, nail polish, or small cases of eye shadow.

For larger items, reach for the exotic fan shape of the Omni Tray which will really make a statement if two or more are joined in a circular or snake-like assemblage.

Fiesta Vanity

And who could forget the brushes?!  Round up your long-legged tools with the help of our curvy Tumbler.  You’ll be surprised at just how many you can squeeze in!

Fiesta Vanity Jewelery

Elevate your Baubles to a Display Worthy of their Splendor

The Three Tier Serving Tray is not just for petit fours.  This elegant space-saver is just as comfortable perched on your vanity.  Fill up the spacious plates with your favorite jewelry for a stunning display.

Of course, these are just a few of the possible ways to integrate the cheerful good looks of Fiesta into your everyday routine.  How do you use Fiesta?

The Perfect Vase

With spring in full bloom and Mother’s Day just around the corner, everyone is looking for the perfect arrangement of freshly cut flowers to brighten their homes. However, since the focus of these springtime bouquets are usually on the blossoms, we thought we’d switch up the conversation by discussing a different aspect of the flower arrangement.

So, we scoured our product line to find the perfect alternative vases to double the cheeriness and up the ante when you bring those bright buds home. Although it was tough to pick our favorites (as Fiesta made every arrangement look flawless!), our faves are as follows:

Demitasse Cup

For those shorter stemmed flowers (possibly the ones your kids find in the backyard), you need a smaller, yet still super stylish, vase. No need to fret, we’ve got you covered with our Demitasse Cup.

If you’ve got a Tumbler lying around, you’ve got a ready-made vase. Keep it in the bathroom to freshen things up, or bring it to the kitchen counter to show off!

Utensil Crock

The Utensil Crock is perfect for the biggest bunch of blossoms you’ve got! A Small Canister would also work wonders if you don’t have the crock handy, as it’s about the same size.

Hostess Bowl

We just had to include the Hostess Bowl in our vase lineup, as it’s one of our favorites to show off! The elegant design on the side is the perfect accompaniment to these pretty blooms, and the Shamrock shade gives an earthy feel to the arrangement.

When the kids go out to pick dandelions, our Bouillon bowl is the ideal vessel to have waiting for them. Watch these yellow pests go from weed to chic inside this little bowl!

Disc Pitcher

We can’t forget about one of our most popular pieces- the Disc Pitcher! The unique shape of this iconic item, paired with your favorite fragrant flora, will make for the flower ensemble of the season.

Medium Vase

Although all of these options are fun and creative, there’s nothing wrong with opting for the classic: our Medium Vase, the perfect choice for Mother’s Day or any day 🙂

Serving Style: The story behind the Fiesta® Beverage Server

Fiesta Beverage Server From birthday parties to backyard barbeques, every celebration feels a little more special when decked out with festive dishes.  Pretty platters piled high with sweet treats and great bowls filled with savory eats – stacks of colorful dinnerware lining the table can be just as beautiful as the rest of the décor.  This focus on entertaining and the presentation of fare is the inspiration behind several new Fiesta® items that have launched over the last few years, among them the gorgeous Fiesta® Beverage Server

As an important element of any gathering, beverages should be front and center, allowing guests to quench their thirst with ease.  But all too often, the party’s drinks are neglected, relegated to an old cooler or stuffed in the fridge.  The Fiesta Beverage Server addresses this issue by elevating refreshments in a beautiful canister, worthy of display.

Fiesta Beverage Server Buffet

The perfect complement to your existing Fiesta table-scape, the Beverage Server fuses the practicality and visibility offered by a tall glass jar with the classic design elements of our iconic dinnerware incorporated through the base and lid.  This concept was implemented by The Homer Laughlin China Company’s Design Department after nearly three years of experimenting.  According to Rich Brinkman, VP of Retail Sales and Marketing, the early renditions resembled a large Fiesta canister with a spout, but this version was far too heavy to be practical.  After reconsidering the design, the final version boasts a two gallon hand-blown glass cylinder, a lighter and more affordable alternative.

Punctuated with a chrome finished spout, the glass cylinder is perched atop a classic Fiesta base that, according to Brinkman, “was inspired by the Art Deco design of the Hostess Bowl,” an item that was originally intended to be turned upside-down for use as a base for pillar candles.  Completing the Beverage Server is a lovely domed lid featuring the quintessential fluted Fiesta knob.  According to Ed Wonder, Director of Design at The Homer Laughlin China Company, the lid was one of the more challenging elements of the design, having been remodeled three times to account for potential deviations in the glass cylinder in order to ensure the best possible fit.  The lengthy experimentation paid off, however, even leading to the development of a new manufacturing process which can be used to produce other lids by way of jiggering – a more efficient and cost effective alternative to casting.

In the year since it has been released, the Fiesta Beverage Server has gained lust-worthy status as the gift to give (and use) on special occasions and with barbeque season just around the corner, this stylish server is sure to be a crowd-pleaser!
